Blake dancing & performing We’ll Meet Again with Dame Vera Lynn

On October 10th 2009 we had the pleasure of performing at The Imperial War Museum for the Vera Lynn Trust Dinner. We were originally introduced to Dame Vera Lynn at the BBC Festival of Remembrance 3 years ago when we performed “Up Where We Belong” in front of 10 Million television viewers in the UK. This go around we was just as special, perhaps more so because we actually got the lovely Dame Vera Lynn to perform “We’ll Meet Again” with us! If that wasn’t enough Blake’s own Ollie Baines had the esteem pleasure of sharing a dance with Mrs. Lynn.

The woman is a legend and for those wondering she still has it. For those of you who are unfamiliar Dame Vera Lynn, DBE (born 20 March 1917) is an English singer whose career flourished during World War II. Nicknamed “The Forces’ Sweetheart”, the songs most associated with her are “We’ll Meet Again” and “The White Cliffs of Dover”.
